EPA
Office Furniture Source, along with Allsteel, provided the furniture for the US Environmental Protection Agency's new "swing space" project. This project had national notoriety as one of the most visible "green" projects ever attempted by the federal government.
Objective
The unique design of the space used as much natural lighting as possible (notice special sloped ceilings and large walls of windows). This called for a layout that allowed that light to get through the entire space even though their privacy issues called for tall panels. This space would be used over-and-over again as they move people in and out while remodeling the main tower of their Clifton campus site.
Solution
Allsteel's Terrace 3.4 Series system with frosted glass tiles and frosted glass sliding doors. The Allsteel seating had to be durable enough to withstand the 10-years of repeated usage and it had to be able to accomidate a wide variety of people sizes.
