Purchasing Associate

Office Furniture Source is seeking a Purchasing Associate to provide professional support to the team.  The Purchasing Associate interacts, builds and maintains customer and manufacturer relationships in a professional and courteous manner. The position manages vendor order processing and fulfillment to ensure timely receipt of products. Candidate must be extremely dependable, organized, detail oriented and able to work independently and team environments.  Candidate will be expected to consistently communication internally and externally in a way that demonstrates Office Furniture Source’s capabilities, commitment and execution to our customers. The position is salaried and Office Furniture Source offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • – Monitor open orders and collaborate with Sales, Customer Service and Warehouse associates to ensure timely delivery of product.
  • – Expedite orders, provide alternative solutions if there are delays in production or change in customers delivery’s requirements.
  • – Review purchase needs on a daily basis.
  • – Competent in all customer service functions including processing customer quotes, orders, and other request in a timely manner.
  • – Communicate in a clear and professional manner to help solve customer problems via telephone, email, or in person.
  • – Interact with manufacturers and sales people on the customers’ behalf.
  • – Help resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  • – Manage time effectively and participate in projects outside of Purchasing Department
  • – Understand Company initiatives and strategic efforts
  • – Direct request and elevate unresolved issues to the proper resource


  • – 2 or 4 year College Degree
  • – Ability to quickly become proficient in proprietary purchasing software.
  • – Professionalism in manner, and possess strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • – Initiative to seek information and resolve problems
  • – Ability to coordinate, plan, organize and manage multiple responsibilities and high volume workload effectively with speed and accuracy
  • – Very high level of attention to detail and technical proficiency
  • – Ability to work in a team environment
  • – Previous office furniture experience a plus
